Capacity Adjustment Grid

What to type into each department group’s capacity bucket, by arrival window. Whole hours, as ServiceTitan accepts them. The five windows do not overlap and cover 8:00 to 7:00 without a gap, so an hour is counted once and only once.

−n reduce this bucket by n hours +n credit this bucket n hours exact the unrounded figure behind it n open technician-hours still unbooked in that window

How the correction is derived. A department group’s bucket in ServiceTitan is sized from the technicians rostered to it and drawn down by jobs booked into its business units. Those two sets come apart whenever a technician runs a call for another group: the hours leave the roster’s availability but not the bucket, and the borrowing group’s bucket is debited for a technician it never spent. Each cell is borrowed in minus lent out for that window — negative means the bucket is advertising hours its own people are not free to work, positive means the bucket is holding back hours someone else already covered.

Rounding. ServiceTitan takes whole hours, so every figure is rounded to the nearest hour — −9.6 becomes −10, +14.9 becomes +15, −0.1 becomes nothing at all. An exact half hour breaks downward rather than up, because an unsold hour costs less than a promise the department cannot keep. The unrounded figure is printed underneath, so what was rounded away is always visible.

Capacity is Normal shift time only, less time off and less any non-job event flagged to remove the technician from capacity planning; on-call shifts are excluded because they are cover, not sellable time. Appointments are cut at midnight first, then clipped to each window, so a multi-day install contributes only the minutes that actually fall inside the window.
